Travellers

Bali, in their words.

  • Bali & Gili · New Year — travellers

Travelled solo and never once felt like the odd one out. Ferry to Gili was the day everyone had come for, and it delivered. Would book with them again without checking anywhere else first.

    Faiza Subramanian, Mumbai

  • Bali & Gili · New Year — travellers

Booked this one fairly late and still got a seat on the October batch. ATV is the bit I keep describing to people who did not go. Tell your friends to go before it gets busy.

    Ananya Singh, Coimbatore

  • Bali & Gili · New Year — travellers

7 nights was exactly right — long enough to settle, short enough to take off work. Stays were simple rather than fancy, clean, and always where they said they would be. Only note: carry more cash than you think you need.

    Neha Chawla, Chandigarh

  • Bali & Gili · New Year — travellers

Went in with low expectations about travelling with strangers and came back with a group chat that is still going. Food stops were picked by someone who actually eats there, not off a list. Already looking at their Thailand · Full Moon Party trip.

    Priya Nair, Thane

  • Bali & Gili · New Year — travellers

First group trip for me, and Land in Bali on day one took the nerves out of it. New Year's Eve came around just as the group had hit its stride, which was annoying in the best way. Already looking at their Thailand · Full Moon Party trip.

    Tara Menon, Kolkata

  • Bali · Zamna Festival — travellers

Travelled solo and never once felt like the odd one out. Transfers and check-ins were sorted before we arrived anywhere, which I had not expected at this price. Tell your friends to go before it gets busy.

    Siddharth Verma, Hyderabad

  • Bali · Zamna Festival — travellers

The route sold it — Ubud, Gili T, Nusa Dua in 8 days without me planning a thing. Zamna Festival, day one was the day everyone had come for, and it delivered. Would book with them again without checking anywhere else first.

    Imran Chawla, Thane

  • Bali · Zamna Festival — travellers

Paid, packed, turned up. That was genuinely the whole job. Back to Bali is the bit I keep describing to people who did not go. Would do it again with the same crew.

    Shreya Sharma, Vadodara

  • Bali · Zamna Festival — travellers

    Sahil Iyer, Chandigarh

  • Bali · Zamna Festival — travellers

Was deciding between two operators and picked this for the itinerary. No regrets. Stays were simple rather than fancy, clean, and always where they said they would be. Would do it again with the same crew.

Asked and answered

Questions about Bali

  • Do Indians need a visa for Bali?

Yes. Indian passport holders get a 30-day Visa on Arrival, or an e-VoA applied for online before flying. A separate Bali tourist levy is also payable on arrival. Your passport needs at least 6 months' validity.

  • What's the best time to visit Bali?

April to October is the dry season, with sunny days and calm seas for Nusa Penida and Gili trips. November to March brings afternoon rain, but there are fewer crowds and better prices.

  • Is Bali good for first-time international travellers?

Very. Direct and one-stop flights from Indian cities make it easy to reach. English is widely spoken, Indian food is easy to find, and a group itinerary takes care of transfers between Ubud, Seminyak and the islands.

  • What should I pack for Bali?

Pack light cotton clothes, swimwear, reef-safe sunscreen, a light rain jacket and comfortable sandals. Add one modest outfit with covered shoulders and knees for temples. A carry-on plus a small daypack works well, since island ferries have limited luggage space.

  • What currency should I carry?

Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Carry some USD or INR to exchange at authorised money changers. Use cards at hotels and larger restaurants, and keep cash for local markets and warungs.

  • How many days are enough for Bali?

7-8 days covers Ubud, Seminyak or Uluwatu, and a day trip to Nusa Penida. Add 2 days if you want to include the Gili Islands.
